Mama Cleo's Boys Home proudly introduces our esteemed new Board of Directors. Composed of passionate individuals with diverse backgrounds and experience, our board members share a common commitment to transparency, development and the mental well-being of the children in our care.

Alex Benardino Garcia - President and
Director of Mama Cleo's Boys Home AC

He has been involved with group homes since he was fifteen years old.  Alex founded Mama Cleo's Boys Home in 2018 with his mother Cleo.  He continues to care for children in need of a loving home.

Anabel Hurtado Martínez - Secretary and
Founder of Love In Action Center

Anabel has been caring for neglected children since 2000 by operating a soup kitchen. She started a full care home at the request of the local government homes.  She has been caring for abused and abandoned girls eversince.  

Thomas James - Treasurer
Retired Public Servant, Community Volunteer

Thomas was a Canadian public servant for 32 years working and volunteered as a youth mentor, coordinated youth programs, assistant coach for a girls softball team,  built homes with Habitat for Humanity and a member of the Knights of Columbus. 

Thomas has been a volunteer with Mama Cleos since April 2022.

Kim Melia
Business Owner,  Networker, Co Founder: Work, Play, Love

Kim is the president of Melia Communications, the owner of a successful business and cofounder of Work, Play, Love. Her charity based in the United States 501c3 supports many projects including girls and boys group homes in Guatemala, Mexico and assisted in the building of a trade school in Guatemala. 

 

She was on the advisory board of LegalShield for two years. 

Mike Fedick
Business Owner,  Networker, Motivational Speaker

Since his late teenager years, Mike has been an entrepreneur, business owner, motivational speaker.  Mike is currently the CEO of Reach Solar.

Mike was an ambassador for Work, Love Play for eight years.  Mike was also a basketball coach for basketball.  

 

His purpose in life is to add value for people to achieve their goals.  

Gwen McClure
Architect, Interior Designer, Volunteer

Gwen's background is in corporate interior architecture, including interior design to manage and reorganize office environments since 1980. 

 

Gwen  also assisting seniors with downsizing from their large homes into retirement communities. This included providing emotional support with ‘liberating’ belongings, as well making a major change in their lifestyle. 

 

Gwen was one of the founders of 'San Francisco Dog', an organization that educated dog owners on dog health and wellbeing. The organization worked with the local government to increase off-leash dog parks. Also, volunteering for 40 years with animal rights organizations. Her passion continues as she volunteers by fostering dogs and organizes funding raising events for dog rescues and Mama Cleo's Boys Home.
