Our Mission and Goals
Our Mission is "To foster a compassionate and inclusive community through dedicated volunteer service, empowering boys at Mama Cleo's Boys Home to overcome adversity and achieve their full potential. Our volunteers support and assist our staff in providing care, support, and mentorship, ensuring that every child feels valued, loved, and encouraged to become a positive and contributing member of society."
Volunteer Goals
Our volunteers bring diverse skills, perspectives, and experiences, united by a shared commitment to making a meaningful difference in the lives of these boys. Together, we work to:
-
Provide Emotional Support: Offering a listening ear, a comforting presence, and genuine care to help the boys feel safe and understood.
-
Assist Staff in Daily Activities: Working alongside our dedicated staff to ensure smooth daily operations, including activity planning.
-
Enhance Learning Opportunities: Assisting with homework, tutoring, and educational activities to promote academic success and intellectual growth.
-
Promote Physical Well-being: Engaging in recreational activities, sports, and health education to ensure the boys' physical health and development.
-
Foster Life Skills: Teaching practical skills, from cooking to financial literacy, to prepare the boys for independent and successful futures.

Build a Loving Community: Creating a family-like atmosphere where every boy feels a sense of belonging, respect, and unconditional love.

Drivers for Pick up and Delivery
We need drivers with vehicles to pick up food, articles and people. Tell us when and how often you can help.
Social Medial Maker
The Volunteers of Mama Cleo's Boys Home needs to report on the activities of the boys and the people in the community trying to make our lives better.
Mentors
We need people willing to socialize and mentor our younger preschool boys. We need them on weekday mornings and afternoons. Play, colour, and reading are some of the activities you can do.
Ambassadors
Every Saturday, we have a carwash and we need volunteers to accept donations and explain the mission of Mama Cleo's Boys home. They may also assist with fundraising events.
Gardeners
People with a green thumb are needed to build a healthy garden for the boys. We want to teach the boys good practices.
Maintenance Helper
We also have some repairs or improvements that are ongoing. If you have experience in handyperson work, then sign up.
Educators
Some of our boys come to us with little or no education, so we need experienced teachers to help with teaching. We have some material but improvements can always be made.
Board of Directors for Mama Cleo's Boy Home AC
We are looking to expand our Board of Directors to develop our support within the State of Jalisco and in Chapala. We seek politically and community-connected individuals who can represent Mama Cleo's Boys Home locally and in Guadalajara.
Artists and Musicians
Are you able to teach children to draw, paint, make pottery or other crafts, or can you teach them to play a musical instrument?
Fund Raising Helpers
The boys truly need help as all they live on is the donations of a few generous people. We need people who have experience or don't mind be assertive in the raising of funds for the day to day things as well as improvements to the property.
General Help
We have odd jobs from organizing donations to general clean up, walking dogs, or a little administration.
Opportunities
Volunteer Screening
Any person working directly with the boys must obtain a police records check. This check may take some time as it is sent to the police from your country of origin and a consent form will be required.
